The Society for Aids in Africa (SAA) is calling for proposition of a theme, objectives and logo for the International Conference for Aids and Sexually Transmitted Infections (ICASA) 2023 penciled for the 4th to the 9th of December 2023.
The conference, to be held in Victoria Falls, is coming to Zimbabwe for the second time after the country successfully hosted the 2015 edition.
ICASA is a major and only bilingual (French and English) international AIDS conference which takes place in Africa. The conference seeks to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis and Malaria and the debilitating effects of these diseases on communities.
SAA, the custodian of ICASA, with more than 5000 memberships in 56 countries is organising the 2023 conference in collaboration with the government of Zimbabwe, jointly with international and local partners.
More than 10 000 delegates from nearly 150 countries, including more than 200 journalists from around the globe are expected to grace the conference.
In drawing the theme and objectives, contestants are expected to factor in the current trends in global health, the SDGs, the 95-95-95 goal and the end of AIDS by 2030.
The theme and objectives must also reflect the three components of the new trends of HIV AIDS in Africa namely Scientific, Leadership and Community.
Contestants are encouraged to draw guidance from the 2021 theme and objectives which can be accessed at the SAA website, www.saafrica.org
The length of the theme should not exceed 20 words while objectives should not be more than 5 points.
The ICASA 2023 logo should reflect the host country’s values, the SDGs, the 95-95-95 goal and the end of AIDS by 2030.
The contest is open to all African countries and the winner will be rewarded with a $500 token of appreciation from SAA.
Submissions should be sent via email icasatheme@saafrica.org before the 10th of November 2022.
