Cde Betty Mtero Declared National Heroine

The late liberation war stalwart, Cde Betty Mtero who died on  Tuesday  has been  declared a  National  Heroine.

She was 90.

The message for conferrment to national heroine status for the late Cde Betty Mtero was delivered to the family in Harare on Saturday evening.

On behalf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the party’s secretary for War Veterans cde Douglas Mahiya described the late national heroine as a stalwart liberation icon.

The late Cde Mtero is survived by three children, Tony, Shungu and Kundai, and 5 grandchildren.

Mourners are gathered at Number 657 Glenwood Drive, Helensvale, while burial arrangements will be announced in due course. ZBC
