Well-respected cleric and Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA) church founder, Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti has died.
Archbishop Guti, who celebrated his 100th birthday in May this year, died peacefully Wednesday night. His death was announced in a statement on social media by ZAOGA National Chairman Apostle Joseph Guti.
“It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the promotion to great glory of our dearly beloved spiritual father, visionary and iconic leader Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti. He peacefully departed from this world today, Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He has transitioned to be with his Lord and master whom he faithfully and sacrificially served for over eight decades.”
Archbishop Guti, a visionary in his own right, founded Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (Z.A.O.G.A.) in 1960, after breaking away from a South African Pentecostal church, the Apostolic Faith Mission a year before.
The church grew over the years and opened branches worldwide where it is known as Forward in Faith Ministries International.
Achbishop Ezekiel Guti and his wife Eunor, was blessed with seven children with – daughters Sarah Rusere, La-Verne Simukai, Fiona Arthurs, Dorcas Jaricha, Gracious Chikore and Ethanim Nyajeka and Ezekiel Junior.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
