Talented gospel musician, Rumbi Zvirikuzhe Nazombe, is back with a powerful 9 track album which promises to makes some waves on the gospel music scene.

The new album titled “Zvoramba Sei Apa” was launched at the Anglican Cathedral in Harare CBD on Saturday.

Produced by Blessing Masanga, the album is packed with the gospel, picked from various themes of the Holy Bible.

The title track, “Zvoramba sei” is an inspirational song which encourages people to always ask and believe the Lord for breakthroughs, even in the face of adversities.

The track “Mudanga”, talks about the birth of Jesus Christ and seeks to educate people the values drawn from the humble beginnings of the life of Jesus Christ.

The gospel diva featured Apostle Paul Sambo, and his husband Smart Nazombe, on a Chewa song Ndinu wakuera.

Other songs to watch on the album include, Inzwi Kudana, Mununuri Jesu, We shall overcome, and Tenzi Nditungamire.

In an interview at the sidelines of the launch, Zvirikuzhe Nazombe said she is back in the game because she believes in using music as a channel to preach the gospel.

“The word of God inspires me to keep on in the music industry because I realised that some people come close to God through music and others have no time to seat down reading the bible but when they listen to gospel songs, they can even be healed,” she said.

She says she looks to feature great musicians Shingisai Suluma and Amai Olivia Charamba in her future albums.

She also lamented the challenges that gospel musicians face with regards to sponsorships. She said she worked with various renowned producers but the major undoing has been finances.

“I worked with a variety of producers in my other previous albums which include Doctor Tawanda, Lyton Ngolombi and Makumbe but financial challenges forced me to take a break. The challenge is gospel music has less sponsorship as compared to other genres,” said Zvirikuzhe.

Nazombe also appealed to the corporate world to consider female gospel musicians on sponsorship.

“I am appealing to the corporate world to also consider gospel music and female artists for sponsorship since I am seeing gospel artists being sidelined,” she said.

Gospel music greats among them, Pastor Charles Charamba, Mai Olivia Charamba, Pastor Haisa and others graced the album launch where Rumbi belted the new tracks with a live band.

Before this 2023 production, Rumbi had 5 albums to her name-Mwari Inhare (2006), Tenzi Chiramba Kusakara(2009), Restoration (2011), Mutsawashe (2017) and Kwajeka also released in 2017.

Rumbi Zvirikuzhe Nazombe’s music falls in the class of traditional gospel music and her messages, and melodies appeal to the souls Christianity believers.
