War Veterans Minister Ambassador Mutsvangwa Fired As President Appoints three new Deputy Cabinet Ministers

The Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs, Honourable Christopher Mutsvangwa has been removed from his cabinet position with immediate effect, government has announced.

Reasons of his dismissal from a position he assumed five months ago have not been given by the time of going to print.

In a press release, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr. Martin Rushwaya announced Mutsvangwa’s dismissal as well as the appointment of three deputy ministers to ministries that have been operating with vacancies.

Veteran broadcaster, linguist and Gwanda South legislator Hon Dr Omphile Marupi is now the Deputy Minister of lnformation, Publicity and Broadcasting Services. A holder of a  PhD in Literature and Philosophy in English and Comparative Literature from University of Fort Hare,  South Africa, Dr Marupi will deputise Hon Dr Jenfan Muswere, and his experience in the media industry is expected to add some depth in how this critical ministry tackles  issues.

Marupi joined the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Cooperation (ZBC) in 2001 and performed various roles from news gathering, reporting, presenting, and rose through the ranks upto the senior management at the national broadcaster.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Language Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Special Honours in Communication and Media Studies and MA Languages and Culture  Linguistics and Literary Studies in 2014  from Midlands State University- Zimbabwe

He is a social Leader, motivational speaker and Lecturer in the Capacity Building Programme (Languages)at Great Zimbabwe University responsible for SeSotho and Indigenous Languages.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and lnternational Trade welcomes Mwenezi East MP Hon Sheilla Chikomo who has been deployed to deputise Minister Ambassador Fredrick Shava.

Honourable Sheillah Chikomo holds a Bachelor of Social Science and Politics (Monash University), Bachelor of Business Science & Economics ( Monash Malaysia), Masters of International Business (MIB) (Monash SA), Post graduate Diploma Corporate Governance – Laureate and a Doctor of Philosophy (Wits University).

Her interests include Politics, Justice, Foreign Affairs, Mining, Education, Economics and  Trade. In terms of political history, Honourable Chikomo has been the District Secretary for Transport in the ZANU PF Youth League.

She was appointed in the Parliamentary Portfolio Committees as Foreign Affairs, and Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training.

Muzarabani South legislator, Hon Benjamin Kabikira was appointed the Deputy Minister at the  Ministry of Local Government and Public Works.
