Veteran Broadcaster Robson Mhandu

In a dramatic turn of events at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), Ms. Adelaide Chikunguru, the suspended Chief Executive Officer, has resigned with immediate effect amidst looming disciplinary actions, while Mr. Robson Mhandu has been ousted over allegations of sexual harassment.
Ms. Chikunguru’s resignation comes in the wake of pending disciplinary proceedings initiated against her. She opted to step down preemptively rather than face potential dismissal from the ZBC. Her decision to unilaterally repudiate her employment contract signifies a significant development within the organization.
Meanwhile, Mr. Asael Muchakata, the Financial Director, has assumed the role of Acting CEO until a substantive CEO is appointed at the Corporation, as per reports.
In a separate but related development, suspended Director Radio Services, Mr. Robson Mhandu has been ousted from his position at the Corporation following allegations of sexual harassment.
According to the ZBC press release, his contract lapsed by operation of law on 29 February 2024 after being suspended, and it has not been renewed. Consequently, he ceases to be an employee of the Corporation, having been notified of the non-renewal of his contract.
