The European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe has once again taken top honors at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, winning first prize in the Foreign Exhibitors category as the Best and Most Outstanding foreign display for the second year running.

The fair ran from 23-27 April 2024 under the theme, ” “Innovation: The Catalyst to Industrialisation and Trade”.

As #TeamEurope, this year’s EU’s expanded stand welcomed more EU Member States, including Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, and The Netherlands, alongside various EU-funded projects making a positive impact in Zimbabwe.

Visitors to the vibrant pavilion were treated to an array of innovative solutions, from sustainable agriculture to women’s empowerment, demonstrating the EU’s commitment to Zimbabwe’s prosperity.

The EU’s participation was part of its Global Gateway campaign, “EU WITH YOU, TINEMI, SILANI” (I am with you, together, we can do it), focusing on Green and Climate Smart Agriculture (GCSA) and Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE).

Visitors engaged with exhibits showcasing climate-resilient farming practices, sustainable agriculture solutions, and initiatives promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The stand also featured sign language training exhibitions, cultural artifacts, and traditional Zimbabwean clothing, crafts, and artwork, fostering inclusivity, accessibility, and cultural exchange.

As the fair progressed, the EU pavilion became a hub of activity, with visitors from all walks of life engaging with exhibits, asking questions, and learning about the EU’s commitment to Zimbabwe’s development.

The visiting Kenyan President, His Excellency William Ruto, accompanied by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, praised the EU’s dedication to Zimbabwe’s growth and the strong partnership between the EU and Zimbabwe.

This impressive achievement showcased the EU’s unwavering dedication to Zimbabwe’s growth and development.
