In a solemn declaration, Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr. Tamer Almassri, condemns the burning alive of Palestinians in Rafah, Bureij Camp, and Jabalia, amidst the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza.

The Ambassador’s statement comes on the 234th day of relentless Israeli aggression, which has seen a surge in violence against Palestinian civilians. According to Ambassador Almassri, Israeli occupation forces have committed eight massacres against families in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours alone, resulting in the deaths of at least 81 Palestinians and the injury of 223 others.

These attacks coincide with the International Court of Justice’s recent order for Israel to cease its military operations in Rafah and maintain access for humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing. Despite this legal injunction, the violence perpetrated by Israeli forces continues unabated.

Ambassador Almassri emphasized that these actions flagrantly disregard international law and humanitarian principles, constituting grave war crimes that demand accountability from the international community. He underscored that the majority of the casualties, totaling at least 35,984 deaths and 80,643 injuries, are civilians, including numerous children and women.
