The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republican Unitary Enterprise Center for Examinations and Tests in Health Service (RUE-CETH) Belarus, signaling a significant step towards enhancing regulatory standards and promoting public health.
The MoU, signed at the RUE-CETH Office in Minsk, Belarus, establishes a collaborative framework aimed at improving regulatory practices, ensuring the safety and efficacy of medicines, and fostering innovation in the pharmaceutical sector. This partnership marks a new chapter of cooperation between the two countries, leveraging their strengths and expertise to benefit citizens.
Mr. Richard Rukwata, Director-General of MCAZ, emphasized the importance of this partnership in building regulatory capacity and ensuring access to safe and effective medicines for both nations. “We are excited to embark on this partnership with RUE-CETH Belarus. This collaboration will enable us to share knowledge, enhance regulatory practices, and ultimately benefit the citizens of both countries,” said Mr. Rukwata.
The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both organizations, reflecting a mutual commitment to advancing healthcare standards and regulatory excellence. The partnership is expected to not only enhance the safety and efficacy of medicines but also promote the development of the pharmaceutical industry and create opportunities for investment and trade.
