RBZ Governor Signs Integrity Pledge Committing to Transparency and Accountability

The  Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Governor Dr. John Mushayavanhu signed an integrity pledge, committing to uphold transparency, accountability, and good governance in the institution’s operations.


The ceremony, held at the RBZ headquarters in Harare, was witnessed by Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) Chairperson Michael Reza, who commended the RBZ for taking this vital step. Reza emphasized that integrity is essential for maintaining public trust and confidence in the financial sector.


“The signing of this integrity pledge demonstrates the RBZ’s commitment to combating corruption and ensuring ethical conduct in its operations,” Reza said. “This move is a positive step towards promoting transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe’s financial sector.”


Reza stressed that the pledge aligns with the country’s development objectives and the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS). He encouraged other institutions to follow suit, promoting a culture of integrity and accountability in the public sector.


“The fight against corruption is a collective responsibility, and we must work together to achieve a corruption-free Zimbabwe,” Reza said. “Integrity is not just a value, but a necessity for building trust and confidence in our institutions.”
The RBZ Governor, Dr. Mushayavanhu, reiterated his institution’s commitment to upholding integrity and transparency.

“We recognize the importance of integrity in maintaining public trust and confidence in the financial sector,” he said. “We will ensure that our operations are transparent, accountable, and ethical.”
The signing of the integrity pledge is a significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s efforts to combat corruption and promote good governance. It demonstrates the country’s commitment to upholding international best practices in financial management and governance.
