Zimbabwe’s fashion industry was abuzz with excitement as the country launched its inaugural Supermodel competition in style. The event, held at the luxurious Hyatt Regency in Harare, drew a packed crowd of fashion enthusiasts, celebrities, and industry experts.
Empowering Zimbabwe’s creative economy, the Supermodel competition is not just about showcasing modeling talent; it aims to shine a light on the multifaceted individuals contributing to Zimbabwe’s creative economy.
This includes filmmakers, fashion designers, makeup artists, photographers, and more.
In a statement, the SUPERMODEL team added that Zimbabwe is at the helm of a creative and Cultural impasse, as Africa becomes the focal point of global attention. This year we have the privilege to curate and cultivate the Brand and Competition.
The SUPERMODEL team reaveled that the winners will gain international exposure and model contracts while working for International brands and agencies.
“The 20 finalists will be signed with SUPERMODEL the agency to start
working in various capacities in the Modelling Industry.
“SUPERMODEL is about honing in the beauty, talent and personalities that can be captured at a world class standard. Our talent will be identified across the nation regardless of race, background, size or age as a contribution to building the Fashion Design Industry”, Supermodel Team explained.
The team highlighted that, the Competition kicks off with our nationwide search and competition for a SUPERMODEL in
the City of Kings on 6th of July, 2024. We will host 6 live challenges which includes Catwalk and Face challenges and Auditions that will be spread out over the next few months.

7th July – Gweru
20th July – Mutare
27th July – Victoria Falls
17th August -Masvingo
24th August – Harare
5th October Semi Finals – Harare
1st March, 2025 – Finals.
The SUPERMODEL brand will uncover the myriad of players that cultivate the Creative Economy of Zimbabwe and as such will highlight and showcase the depth of talent that our country has to offer in various forms such as film, Skill Training programs, fashion designers, Makeup Artists, Photographers, as well as promoting the Wear Zimbabwe campaign that promotes wearing LOCAL and supporting the Zimbabwe Fashion Design Industry.
“All activities and program designs will leave our 20 finalists in a position to sustain their
livelihoods, through Business training of various capacities and providing them all with the opportunity to succeed in the Business of Fashion, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.
“To launch SUPERMODEL, we need your support. We need a village to raise this child. We firmly believe this initiative will bring out the bright Sparks of our Nation as we nurture and identify talent in the Creative Industries.
