Harare, Zimbabwe – The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works has issued an urgent directive to cease all unauthorized developments and sales of stands on Lot 2 Stuhm in Goromonzi. The action comes after the Ministry identified illegal activities being conducted by Pullhill Enterprises and its agencies in the area situated between Murewa and Shamva roads.
In a press statement released today, the Ministry emphasized that the land in question is classified as urban Stateland, falling under its jurisdiction. The Ministry highlighted that, according to Section 43 of the Regional Town and Country Planning Act, Chapter 29.12, only the Minister of Local Government and Public Works has the authority to subdivide, lease, or sell urban Stateland on behalf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“The Minister hereby directs Pullhill Enterprises and its agencies or any other unauthorized entities to stop the illegal developments and sale of stands on Lot 2 of Stuhm,” the statement read. The Ministry also warned the public against purchasing any stands being advertised in the area, cautioning that doing so would result in financial loss and potential prosecution for the illegal occupation of urban Stateland.
In addition, the Ministry has called on law enforcement agencies and other relevant stakeholders to take appropriate actions against these unauthorized activities. The press statement serves as a clear message from the government to curb illegal land developments and protect the interests of unsuspecting buyers.
This intervention comes amid growing concerns over unauthorized land sales and developments, which have often left many citizens embroiled in legal battles and financial difficulties. The Ministry’s swift response aims to prevent further exploitation of public land and ensure compliance with the nation’s planning and land use regulations.
