Defence Minister Oppah Chamu Zvipange Muchinguri-Kashiri

Harare, August 5, 2024 – The Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) launched their 2024 Community Assistance Week today, marking the occasion with the handover of a newly constructed administration block at Kuwadzana 2 High School in Harare.
Speaking at the event, Defence Minister Hon.Oppah Chamu Zvipange Muchinguri-Kashiri praised the ZDF’s community assistance program, saying it demonstrates the forces’ commitment to supporting the government’s development agenda.
“The ZDF’s participation in development initiatives is a testament to their support for the Vision 2030 Agenda by His Excellency the President and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces, Cde Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa,” she said.
The administration block, constructed by skilled ZDF personnel, includes a staff room, canteen, sick bays, and a computer lab. The project was initiated by the school’s development committee, which raised funds for the construction.
Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri commended the school authorities, parents, and the community for their efforts in developing the school, saying it demonstrates the spirit of self-reliance and community involvement.
The ZDF’s community assistance program has undertaken various projects across the country, including the construction of classroom blocks and schools. The program aims to support the government’s development agenda and improve the lives of communities.
The launch of the Community Assistance Week and the handover of the administration block were attended by various dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Charles Tawengwa, and the Commander ZDF, General Phillip Valerio Sibanda.
