Tsholotsho, August 6, 2024 – The Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) today officially handed over Tshino Secondary School in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North Province, as part of their 2024 Community Assistance Week.
Deputy Minister of Defence, Brig Gen (Rtd) Hon. Levy Mayihlome, officiated at the ceremony, praising the ZDF’s community assistance program for its impact on communities.
“The ZDF’s participation in community development projects is driven by the realization that community development requires concerted efforts,” he said.
The school, established in 2018, faced infrastructure challenges, but the ZDF’s assistance has helped alleviate this.
Mayihlome commended the Matabeleland North Minister of State, Lieutenant General (Rtd) Khumalo, the Tsholotsho Rural District Council, and the School Development Committee for their contributions.
He also thanked traditional leaders, including Chief Matuphula, for mobilizing resources and promoting development.
The ZDF’s Community Assistance Week includes other project handovers and medical outreach programs.
