Pizza Inn, a leading fast-food brand in Zimbabwe, marked its 30th anniversary by giving back to the community that has supported it for decades. In a gesture of goodwill, the brand donated a borehole worth $4,500 to the Mount Hebron community in Nyamande Village, located under the jurisdiction of Chief Mashonganyika. The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

The borehole, a vital source of clean water, is set to transform the lives of villagers, many of whom have struggled with access to safe drinking water for years. According to the village leadership, the borehole will help sustain local agricultural activities, enabling villagers to grow produce that they can sell at the nearby Showgrounds market. This development is particularly significant for the widows and orphans in the community, as it will foster economic independence and improve food security in the long term.

The brand’s milestone anniversary comes with a renewed commitment to social responsibility, as evidenced by its latest efforts to uplift communities across Zimbabwe.

Chief Mashonganyika expressed his gratitude to Pizza Inn for the much-needed donation, noting that the borehole would significantly improve living conditions for the residents of Nyamande Village. “This borehole is a lifeline for us. It will not only provide access to clean water but also enable us to grow crops that will sustain our families and improve our livelihoods,” he said.

Pizza Inn, which has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1994, has become a household name with its slogan “Must be the Pizza” and its commitment to quality food. As part of its anniversary celebrations, the brand continues to engage in initiatives that foster community development.

With the donation, Pizza Inn has reinforced its place not just as a leading pizza brand but also as a socially conscious company dedicated to improving the lives of Zimbabweans.
