Self-styled Prophet Talent Madungwe, 38, who refers to himself as the Heavenly Army Commander, escaped jail this morning after an Epworth Court magistrate imposed a non-custodial sentence following his conviction on two counts of violating the Road Traffic Act.
For the first count, Madungwe received a wholly suspended four-month prison sentence, contingent upon his not committing any offense involving negligent driving within the next five years.
For the second count, he was sentenced to six months in prison, with three months suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit any road traffic offence during this period. The remaining three months will be suspended on the condition that he completes 105 hours of community service.
Madungwe was arrested after being involved in an accident on the 6th of August 2024 where it came out that he was driving without a licence.The accident involved a Nissan NP300 single cab which Madungwe side swiped in Hatfield, Harare. The vehicle sustained minor damage on the load box.
Prophet Madungwe was gifted a Toyota Aqua vehicle by Sir Wicknell Chivhayo early this year.
