The New Chairperson Cde Cephas Ncube

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association has appointed new leadership following elections held in Gweru yesterday.

Cde Cephas Ncube emerged as the new Chairperson after securing 294 votes, significantly ahead of Cde Albert Ncube with 90 votes, Cde Victor Matemadanda with 75 votes, and Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, who received 11 votes.

Cde Ncube will be joined by Cde Shorai Nyamangondo as Vice Chairperson and Cde Joel Murerengwa as Secretary General, succeeding the outgoing Ambassador Victor Matemadanda.

Other appointments include Cde Thomas Manyima for Legal Affairs, Cde Vincent Chinone for Transport, Cde Section Ncube for Finance, Cde Sanik Nguni for Security, Cde Nyembesi Togara for Women Affairs, and Cde Samuel Parirenyatwa as Political Commissar.

The association plays a crucial role in overseeing the interests of those who fought for Zimbabwe’s liberation from British colonial rule.
