Zimbabwe’s flagship agricultural event returns to Harare this August, bigger in scope and ambition as it marks two major milestones — the 115th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show and the 130th anniversary of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS).
Taking place from August 26th to 30th under the theme “Building Bridges: Connecting Agriculture, Industry, and Community,” this year’s Show aims to showcase how collaboration can strengthen value chains, attract investment, and secure livelihoods across the country.
Organisers have described the 2025 edition as far more than an exhibition — positioning it as an active hub where farmers, businesses, policymakers, and the public can celebrate progress, address challenges, and shape the future of agriculture together.
ZAS Chief Executive Officer Mr Rufaro Gunundu said the Show’s longevity highlights agriculture’s central place in Zimbabwe’s economy and daily life.
“This event brings together farmers, industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and families to share knowledge, celebrate our progress, and build partnerships that secure our future.”
So far, 304 exhibitors have booked their space, with the final number expected to reach around 580. More than 62,700 square metres of exhibition space has already been taken up, pushing the event closer to its 89,000 square metre target — a clear indication of its broad appeal across industries.
More highlights and new opportunities
In addition to its core agricultural focus, the 2025 Show will offer an expanded programme of networking and business activities. Dedicated Business-to-Business sessions will connect government stakeholders, industry experts and corporate leaders to build strong partnerships and share ideas that can drive the sector forward.
A major feature this year is the ZAS Humanity Golf Day on August 21 at the Royal Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament will fund scholarships for students at the country’s agricultural colleges, helping to nurture the next generation of sector leaders.
Visitors can also look forward to lively evenings, with the Glamis Arena hosting live music performances and fireworks on selected nights. Meanwhile, exhibitors can relax and mingle at the popular Quiz and Karaoke Night at the ZAS Courtyard.
Celebrating Zimbabwe’s excellence
Staying true to tradition, the Show will spotlight the best in local agriculture, with dedicated sections for crops, livestock, tobacco, cotton and small businesses.
Judging for various competitions is already underway, adding a spirit of friendly competition ahead of the prize-giving ceremonies — always a crowd favourite.
A safe, family-friendly event
The organisers have enhanced entry points and parking facilities to handle the expected crowds smoothly. Child safety will again be prioritised — in partnership with the Red Cross and other sponsors, children will be tagged with ID details and guardians’ contacts to ensure quick reunification if needed.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 29, with organisers pledging an event that honours its heritage while looking ahead to a sustainable and prosperous future for Zimbabwean agriculture.
