Zimbabwe will host the 2025 Sanganai Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo from 10–12 September 2025 at the Mutare Sports Club, bringing together over 400 exhibitors including airlines, tour operators, hotels, safari companies, and national tourism boards.
Organised by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), the Expo connects local tourism players with international buyers and investors through exhibitions, conferences, and networking sessions.
This year’s edition, staging in Manicaland for the first time, highlights Manicaland’s attractions such as the Vumba Botanical Gardens, Chimanimani ranges, Mtarazi Falls, and Nyanga National Park. Zimbabwe’s broader appeal includes Victoria Falls, the Great Zimbabwe ruins, Hwange National Park, and Lake Kariba, making it one of Kayak’s Top Destinations for 2025.
Preparations are now at advanced stage with the venue, roads, air and rail networks being readied for the grand expo. The Grand Reef Aerodrome will receive flights with Air Zimbabwe providing flights linking Harare and Mutare. Investments at airports in Harare, Victoria Falls, and Bulawayo are also enhancing passenger services.
Tourism Minister Barbara Rwodzi said the Expo is a chance to showcase both Zimbabwe’s landscapes and its hospitality. Tourism now contributes about 15% of GDP, underscoring its role as a key economic driver.
Zimbabwe has hosted major gatherings before, including the UNWTO General Assembly and Ramsar COP15, confirming its capacity for world-class events. It has also hosted the tourism expo annually with success.
