MUTARE – Seven-year-old model Tarrenlee Hodera stole the spotlight at the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo Carnival held in Mutare on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Tarrenlee, who is preparing to represent Zimbabwe at the Toto Miss Africa Pageant in Kenya in April 2026, impressed the crowd with her recital of the poem Experience Zimbabwe Tourism. The performance highlighted Manicaland’s mountains and waterfalls, underscoring the province’s tourism appeal.
Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi joined Tarrenlee on stage for a dance that drew loud cheers from the audience.
Tarrenlee’s coach, Simbarashe Gwawawa, said she continues to demonstrate exceptional promise.
“She is great in many aspects and shows passion in what she does. I also wish to thank her parents for the unwavering support they give her,” Gwawawa said.
Her mother said she has been encouraged by her daughter’s growing passion for modelling and the arts.
“I noticed that she really likes it, and as a parent I am supporting her vision because she enjoys it and shows great determination,” she said.
Beyond modelling, Tarrenlee has also engaged in charitable work, donating clothes, blankets, and groceries to Danai Children’s Home and Jairos Jiri in Harare. She has expressed interest in establishing a foundation in the future to support orphans and disadvantaged children.
The carnival, which preceded the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo, was marked by vibrant displays of music, dance, and fashion that drew thousands of participants and spectators.
