HARARE- Communities across the capital were on Friday treated to music, performances, and interactive activities as the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, together with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), staged roadshows to build momentum for this year’s World Tourism Day celebrations.

The awareness campaign, which brought high-energy entertainment to neighborhoods, aimed to engage residents and encourage wide participation in the main commemorations set for Saturday at Dzivarasekwa Stadium.

Tourism officials said the roadshows were designed to highlight the importance of tourism to national development while ensuring the public is informed about the global event.

World Tourism Day is marked annually on September 27 under the auspices of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Zimbabwe is hosting this year’s festivities under the local theme “ZimBho – Experience Zimbabwe.”

The Dzivarasekwa event is expected to feature cultural showcases, traditional music, and exhibitions promoting Zimbabwe’s tourism attractions.
