Renowned pageant mentor and founder of Miss Fabulous Zimbabwe, Simbarashe Gwawawa, has expressed strong confidence that Zimbabwe’s beauty queen, Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo, will make the nation proud at the Miss Tourism International pageant to be held in Malaysia.

Speaking at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport during Nomqhele’s departure, Gwawawa said the model’s determination, discipline, and elegance make her one of the strongest contenders for the global crown.

“I am very confident that Nomqhele will bring the crown home. She carries the nation’s hopes and has worked tirelessly to prepare for this moment. She is not just a beauty queen; she is a true ambassador for Zimbabwean tourism and culture,” said Gwawawa.

He expressed gratitude to the Honourable Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism, Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa, for sponsoring Zimbabwe’s participation and ensuring the model’s smooth preparations for the international competition.

“We are humbled by the government’s continued support through the Ministry of Tourism and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. Their commitment proves that investing in young talent is investing in the nation’s image,” he added.

Nomqhele was accompanied at the airport by fellow pageant holders, including Hillary Mandava (Mister Tourism World Zimbabwe 2024/25), Tadiwanashe Mtetwa (Miss Tourism Africa Zimbabwe 2025), and Princess Kimberly Masters (Miss Teen of Universe Zimbabwe 2025), who were all present to bid her farewell and wish her success.

Gwawawa, who has been instrumental in grooming several Zimbabwean models who have represented the country internationally, said his mission goes beyond pageantry.

“Through Miss Fabulous Zimbabwe and other initiatives, I am working on projects that uplift the girl child — empowering young women to see themselves as capable leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers,” he said.

He added that Nomqhele’s participation is a victory in itself, showcasing Zimbabwe’s beauty, culture, and hospitality to the world.

“When our models shine on the international stage, they promote Brand Zimbabwe. Nomqhele’s journey is proof that with passion, preparation, and purpose, dreams can become reality,” he concluded.

Nomqhele is expected to compete against contestants from more than 50 countries in Malaysia, where she will showcase Zimbabwe’s tourism, culture, and heritage on a global platform.
