Harare, Zimbabwe — The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has announced a reduction in registration fees for artists and creative organisations, effective January 30, 2026, in a move aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business in the cultural and creative industries.
The adjustments are intended to make formal registration more accessible, allowing artists and creative enterprises to redirect resources toward developing their craft and expanding their operations.
The move follows a directive which instructed government agencies to review and lower fees, levies, and permits across all sectors to improve the business environment.
The revised fees apply to all categories of artists, arts associations, and creative organisations, with NACZ encouraging practitioners to complete their registration under the updated guidelines.
Industry observers have described the decision as a critical step toward supporting Zimbabwe’s creative economy, as lower fees are expected to enable more artists to formally register, access opportunities, and contribute to sector growth.
The fee reduction is part of broader government efforts to improve the ease of doing business, support enterprise growth, and strengthen the country’s cultural and creative industries as a key driver of economic development.
