As the 2026 academic year begins, the Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) is calling both civilians and security personnel to enrol at this growing institution, which offers a wide range of innovative programmes across its diverse faculties.

Located just 10 kilometres from Harare’s CBD along Mazowe Road, ZNDU blends academic excellence with professional discipline and practical experience. Students have the opportunity to engage with peers from various sectors—including diplomats, technocrats, defence personnel, and civilians—creating a rich and dynamic learning environment.

The university offers flexible entry options, making it easy for students to enrol and advance through their chosen programmes. ZNDU’s Faculty of Engineering equips students with the skills and knowledge to compete locally and internationally. Full-time Bachelor of Science Honours degrees include:

Aerospace Engineering

Programmes run for five years and offer flexible entry pathways:

Normal Entry: Minimum of 2 ‘A’ Level passes including Physics and Mathematics, plus 5 ‘O’ Level passes

Special Entry: 5 ‘O’ Level passes, a relevant National Diploma, and at least 3 years’ post-diploma experience

Postgraduate opportunities include MSc, MPhil, and DPhil degrees in Software Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, with research areas such as UAV technology, platform automation, biomedical software systems, and aerospace vehicle design. Weekend and evening classes are available for working students.

The Faculty of Social Sciences focuses on programmes designed to meet Zimbabwe’s growing needs in diplomacy, security, disaster management, and international affairs. Available programmes include:
