A total of twenty-five government officials are scheduled to leave Zimbabwe for China where they will attend a three-week Bilateral Seminar on Public Management.
The programme is part of the government’s efforts to groom civil servants who are fit to put government’s developmental plans into action.
As pronounced by His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa under the Vision 2030, Zimbabwe targets to create an Upper Middle Income Economy by the year 2030 and this calls for investment in the human capital, among other variables.
Sending off the team, Secretary to Service Commissions, Dr. Tsitsi Choruma enjoined the group to maintain teamwork and professionalism during the tour.
The Team was challenged to be transformative and demonstrate that they are fit for purpose cadres by customizing lessons learnt in China.
Dr Choruma added that successful input to the development trajectory under Vision 2030 was a prerequisite for consideration amongst a cohort of leaders that the Commission is grooming.
The course content for this Seminar is tailormade for Zimbabwean participants.
The Secretary added that one being in Management was not synonymous with one being a leader. Developmental public servants were an example of leaders, outstanding individuals who enhanced service provision for national development to the satisfaction of the citizenry.
