Former Mudzi legislator and recently installed Chief Mukota, born Newton Kachepa has died.
Chief Mukota died at Marondera Hospital from injuries sustained in a road traffic accident which occured along the Marondera Musami Road when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving.
According to reports, two other people, one pedestrian who was on the roadside and a passenger in the vehicle died on the spot.
Chief Mukota was officially appointed chief by President Emmerson Mnangagwa with effect from 8 August 2023. He served as Member of Parliament for Mudzi in both the Old and New Dispensation.
