Ngezi Platinum Stars have won the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title, ending FC Platinum’s dominance to the top award.
The Turf based team outclassed Simba Bhora 2-1 in a fast paced match that was played in a packed Baobab stadium.
This is their first ever League title since they joined top flight football in 2012.
The champions had to come from behind to overturn the tables after Simba Bhora took the lead in the 39th minute at Baobab Stadium. Two goals from Kudzai Chigwida and Takunda Benhura were enough for the Takesure Chiragwi’s coached side to cling the title.
The Mhondoro-Ngezi outfit secured the title with with 63 points from 32 matches.
