The European Film Festival Zimbabwe (#EuroFilmFestZW) has announced the return of the Bioskop! short film competition, calling on filmmakers to submit their short films by July 20, 2024 via https://filmfreeway.com/ZIFFZimbabwe.
Now in its ninth edition, Bioskop! offers a prestigious platform for Zimbabwean filmmakers to display their creative prowess and gain national recognition.
Running concurrently with the European Film Festival Zimbabwe, this year’s competition revolves around the evocative theme of “STAYING CONNECTED.”
Filmmakers are called to craft short films that shatter stereotypes and illuminate the profound beauty of human connection.
This competition is open to filmmakers of Zimbabwean heritage residing in Zimbabwe, Europe, or Africa.
The competition celebrates exceptional talent with cash prizes across several categories, including Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, and Best Diaspora Film.
Since its inception by the European Union in 2016, the European Film Festival Zimbabwe has blossomed into a vibrant celebration of diverse storytelling, bridging European and African cinema.
The festival will run from October 11 to 19, 2024, in Harare and Bulawayo, promising a feast of cinematic excellence.
