South African Sports Brand Makes Impressive Debut At ZITF 2025

MMR Sports, a South African sportswear brand designer, Kgomotso Lekganyane, made a remarkable debut at the 65th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) 2025.

Lekganyane’s innovative and culturally infused sportswear collection captured the attention of attendees and industry professionals alike.

Exhibiting for the first time at ZITF, MMR Sports showcased a range of customized athletic apparel, including soccer jerseys and women’s sportswear, all tailored to meet specific customer needs.

“All we are show casing is tailor made to meet specific customer requirements, these items include soccer jerseys, womens sportswear.”

The pieces stood out for their bold use of vibrant colors, eye-catching patterns, and a unique incorporation of Ndebele-inspired prints, reflecting a fusion of culture and modern athletic wear.

In line with this year’s theme, Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Economic Landscape, Lekganyane demonstrated how creativity and digital innovation can merge to create impressive products.

She explained her design process, which involves translating a customer’s vision into a finished product through digital design and material

“We put the concept into a digital process, then onto paper, and finally into a finished product tailored to fit you and your team’s unique identity,” said Lekganyane.

“We use different fabrics depending on your environment and the type of sport, ensuring comfort, durability, and stretchability for every athlete.”

MMR Sports’ presence at ZITF 2025 did not only introduced a fresh perspective to the sportswear sector but also opened up valuable opportunities for networking, partnerships, and market expansion. Lekganyane’s participation highlighted the fair’s ongoing role in promoting African innovation, creativity, and cross-border collaboration.

As MMR Sports looks ahead, Lekganyane’s ZITF showcase marks a promising step in expanding their brand across Southern Africa, proving that fashion, when rooted in cultural identity and innovation, can be a powerful force in economic integration and industrial growth.
