The Zimbabwe International Book Fair is set to host the Reconnect Book Festival 2025 on July 31 to August 1, 2025, at the Large City Hall in Bulawayo.
The event, supported by the City of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe Book Publishers Association, Booksellers Association of Zimbabwe, and Caleb Mucheche & Partners Law Chambers, promises a celebration of literature with free admission to the public.
Literature plays a pivotal role in shaping culture, fostering creativity, and promoting intellectual growth. Book writing is a fundamental aspect of literature, allowing authors to share stories, ideas, and knowledge with readers worldwide. In Zimbabwe, literature serves as a medium for expressing national identity, history, and social commentary.
Despite the rise of digital media, book writing and reading remain vital. Books provide in-depth exploration of topics, foster empathy through storytelling, and offer a tangible connection to knowledge.
In an era dominated by screens, reading books encourages focused thinking, imagination, and retention of information. The Reconnect Book Festival underscores the enduring importance of books in connecting people through literature.
The festival will take place on July 31 to August 1, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Large City Hall, with admission being free to encourage broad participation and engagement with literature.
