Evangelist Trymore Muparinga, a well-known street preacher renowned for his simple yet powerful sermons, has received a life-changing gift from prominent businessman and philanthropist Wicknell Chivayo.

Muparinga has earned widespread acclaim and inspired thousands with his heartfelt preaching at the corner of First Street and Speke Avenue in Harare.

Posting on his social media under the name Madzibaba Wicknell, Chivayo praised Muparinga for being a “spiritual compass for many,” noting that for years he preached without a stage or sound system — only “a heart full of fire.”

“There are voices that echo from pulpits and then there are voices that rise from the pavements,” wrote Chivayo. “For MANY years, at corner 1st Street and Speke Avenue, a certain EVANGELIST became a spiritual COMPASS for many… He speaks in a manner so SIMPLE, yet his words are PREGNANT with deep SPIRITUAL REVELATION.”

Muparinga’s unique approach — mixing wisdom, humour, and theatrical delivery — has made him popular among passersby, online followers and city commuters. Chivayo singled out one of Muparinga’s most striking messages about balancing prayer and hard work: “Prayer haidzinge nhamo, inodzinga mweya wenhamo… Indeed, we are not heavenly minded to be earthly useless!”

“What sets you apart… is that never have I heard you speak ill of another Man of God,” wrote Chivayo. “You do not use the pulpit to criticize, but to uplift and encourage people to follow a Christ-centred life. Your message has always been love, compassion, prayer, discipline and hard work.”

As recognition for his years of service, Chivayo announced that Muparinga should “go and see Victor at Exquisite Motors on Monday and collect your brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD6 that is fully paid for and ready for collection.” In addition, Muparinga will receive US$50,000 in cash to grow his ministry — whether by buying instruments, setting up equipment, or expanding his outreach.

Despite travelling overseas, Muparinga has remained committed to preaching at the same street corner where, as Chivayo described it, “GRACE located him.”

“In recognition of your exceptional contribution to the body of Christ and your deep spiritual teachings filled with humor, I say a BIG congratulations to you, Evangelist Trymore Muparinga,” Chivayo added.

Trymore Muparinga is celebrated for bringing the Gospel to everyday people right where they are — on the streets. His street sermons, delivered without fanfare but rich in relatable wisdom, have made him a beloved figure among Harare’s urban faithful.

With the new vehicle and financial support, the popular evangelist is expected to continue reaching more people, taking his message of love, humility, and hard work to even greater heights.
