Job Sikhala
By Staff Reporter
The trial of Citizens Coalition for Change leaders Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole was yesterday postponed to the 2nd of October 2023 after the politicians lawyers excused themselves for other commitments at the High Court.
Sikhala and Sithole who are facing inciting violence were arrested on June 14th last year, alongside 14 other CCC activists after utterances and violence that followed the murder of CCC activist Blessing Ali were adjudged criminal.
The state alleges that Sikhala recorded and published a video demanding justice for Ali in a manner which was deemed to be criminal.
He was arrested three days after Ali’s body was found and the trial has dragged for over a year.
Sithole and other activists were released on bail but Sikhala’s bail applications have failed.
