Warriors To Play Botswana At The National Sports Stadium this Saturday

ZIFA has announced that Zimbabwe Warriors squad made up of both local and foreign based players will play Botswana in an international friendly on Saturday 14 October 2023 at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

According to ZIFA, the squad will be made public once all logistical issues are finalised, but players will start arriving for camp on Wednesday.

The friendly match is an intergral part of the country’s preparations for matchdays 1 and 2 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers starting this November.

The Warriors will play Rwanda away on November 13 before playing Nigeria at home on the 21 November 2023.

Zimbabwe is in Group C with Benin, Lesotho, South Africa, Nigeria and Rwanda.

The friendly match will give the new technical team a chance to assess the available players as Zimbabwe embarks on the journey to hunt for the maiden World Cup appearance.

The match kicks off at 15:00 hours, with gate charges for the rest of ground pegged at $5, while Bay 15-18 cost $10 and $50 for VIP.
