Ambassador Tamar Almassri

The State of Palestine has vehemently criticized Israel’s recent onslaught in the Gaza Strip, condemning it as a calculated policy of “scorched earth” aimed at destroying the Palestinian population.
In a press statement, Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr Tamar Almassri said, the widespread destruction of homes, infrastructure, and essential services has left a staggering number of over two million Palestinians displaced, with a shocking 90 percent of buildings in Gaza reduced to rubble.
He decried these actions as flagrant war crimes and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
“The deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and places of worship, has led to a severe disruption of critical services such as water, electricity, and sanitation, pushing millions of Palestinians to the brink of a humanitarian crisis,” said Dr. Almassri.
He has urged the global community to condemn Israel’s aggression in unequivocal terms and to swiftly impose sanctions to halt further escalations.
Expressing deep frustration with the lack of robust international response, Palestine has sounded the alarm on the potential for Israel’s unchecked belligerence to ignite a broader regional conflict with dire repercussions.
Dr Almassri added that the prevailing impunity shielding Israel only serves to empower its oppressive tactics against the Palestinian people, who have endured decades of systemic injustices, apartheid, and forced displacement.
