Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr. Tamar Almassri, has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli military operations in Jenin, a city in the West Bank, where the death toll has reached 10 and 40 others have been injured.

In a statement released to the media in Harare, Dr. Almassri detailed a troubling expansion of Israeli control measures, including the installation of 898 checkpoints and 16 new iron gates across the West Bank. She stated that these measures have effectively paralyzed Palestinian movement.

“The Palestinian people are facing a systematic campaign of oppression that resonates with historical struggles against colonialism,” Dr. Almassri said, adding that these new restrictions have transformed Palestinian territories into isolated bantustans.

The Ambassador highlighted the recent Israeli military offensive in the Jenin refugee camp, where drone strikes and military operations have caused significant civilian casualties and damaged infrastructure, particularly around Ibn Sina Hospital. This attack marks one of the deadliest single-day operations in the West Bank this year.

Dr. Almassri reaffirmed Palestine’s commitment to achieving an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, emphasizing that the Palestinian people will never relinquish their right to self-determination.
