Cde Garwe, born Tongai Blessing Muvirimi and a devoted ZANU PF stalwart, has reiterated his firm commitment to Zimbabwe’s national development agenda, voicing strong support for the transformative reforms being championed under President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Second Republic.

Cde Garwe is well-known for his ability to uplift and inspire through his spirited presence at national events, including the burial of national heroes and other significant state occasions.

His consistent message is one of unity, progress, and the importance of standing behind leadership in pursuit of a shared vision.

Speaking recently at the burial of Cde Mandeya, Cde Garwe expressed confidence in the trajectory the country has taken, despite the noise of political discourse that often includes criticism and doubt.

“Change doesn’t happen overnight,” he reflected. “But these deliberate steps are systematically clearing the national backlog and laying a strong foundation for long-term development. It is clear that the Second Republic has ushered in tangible progress that is building a stable and prosperous Zimbabwe.”

He reiterated his commitment to supporting the government’s vision:

“We will continue to play our part and cheer the President and all our leadership as we march toward Vision 2030. Our leadership has demonstrated the political will to drive change, and we will stand with them as we move forward together as a nation.”

Cde Garwe highlighted a number of key initiatives he views as markers of progress. He cited the ongoing digitalisation of the Zimbabwe Republic Police and immigration departments, the construction of modern one-stop border posts, enhanced anti-smuggling operations, and improvements at the passport office as evidence of a government that is modernising and adapting to citizen needs.

He also noted that road infrastructure is improving, a key enabler of economic activity and regional connectivity.

In the agricultural sector, he commended the roll-out of smart agriculture technologies and a range of presidential input schemes designed to empower smallholder farmers.

“Our farmers are being supported through several targeted programmes,” he said. “These efforts are essential for improving livelihoods and strengthening food security. If each of us plays our part, the nation will undoubtedly thrive.”

Looking to the future, Cde Garwe hinted at launching a national public education initiative aimed at raising awareness of government policies and accomplishments. He emphasized the importance of an informed and engaged citizenry in achieving sustainable national development.

Cde Garwe’s message is clear: progress is being made, and with unity, informed participation, and continued leadership, Zimbabwe is on a firm path toward prosperity.

On ZANU PF’s resolution to extend President Mnangagwa’s leadership to 2030, Cde Garwe commented:

“The message is clear—people spoke at the Conference. They want the President to continue and lead us toward Vision 2030.”
