Former Norton legislator Sabhuku Temba Mliswa has urged parents to involve children in spaces that shape their future, noting that platforms such as the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) offer valuable opportunities for learning and inspiration.
Mliswa is attending the 2026 ZITF, where he has participated in a number of conferences, sharing insights and challenging leaders to embrace innovation and develop lasting solutions to the challenges facing communities.
On Wednesday, the outspoken father of 21 was accompanied by his 10 children, all dressed in scarves bearing the colours of the Zimbabwean flag, drawing admiration from many attendees.
Mliswa said bringing his children to the Trade Fair was a deliberate effort to expose them to Zimbabwe’s industrial and commercial landscape.
“As parents, we have a responsibility to deliberately involve our children in spaces that shape the future of our nation. The trade fair is not just about business; it is about learning, vision and inspiration,” he said.
He added that early exposure to entrepreneurship and innovation would equip young people with the mindset needed to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.

The annual showcase, currently underway in Bulawayo, has attracted business leaders, policymakers and families from across the country, with a growing emphasis on youth participation and intergenerational learning.
Mliswa is among former public officials who remain actively engaged in platforms that advance economic dialogue and industrial growth.
The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair remains one of the country’s premier economic events, providing a platform for local and international exhibitors to showcase products and services while fostering dialogue on industrial growth and economic transformation.
