President Mnangagwa Engages Zimbabwe Diaspora in South Korea, Encourages Investment and Patriotism

Seoul, South Korea – President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed the Zimbabwe Diaspora community in South Korea, urging them to invest in their home country and contribute to its development.


Speaking at the Diaspora Engagement Meeting on June 5, 2024, President Mnangagwa highlighted Zimbabwe’s progress in agriculture, mining, tourism, and infrastructure development. He encouraged the diaspora community to explore investment opportunities in these sectors.


The President also announced the introduction of a new currency, the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), and urged support for the local currency. He praised the diaspora community’s financial remittances, which have significantly contributed to the country’s economy.


President Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of patriotism and loyalty, encouraging the diaspora community to channel their expertise and experience back to Zimbabwe. He assured them of a streamlined investment process and an improved ease of doing business environment.
The President also highlighted the country’s focus on science, technology, and innovation, with innovation hubs and industrial parks established at state universities.
The President Mnangagwa thanked the diaspora community for their contributions and encouraged them to continue playing a vital role in Zimbabwe’s development.
