Genesis College, one of the top-performing Cambridge and Zimsec schools in the country, has made a bold move by relocating from the heart of Harare’s CBD to Chipukutu Park, Damofalls, Ruwa.
According to the School Principal Mr. Levy Hombarume, the relocation to Ruwa marks an exciting new chapter for the school.
“We have secured a good space for the school in Ruwa, and we are committed to continuing to provide quality education to our students. We are excited about the opportunities that this new location will bring, and we are confident that it will enable us to maintain our high standards of academic excellence.”
“We are already preparing our students and staff for the Heritage Based Curriculum alongside the Cambridge curriculum to ensure that students get the best out of their learning experience,” he said.

Mr Jim David, a seasoned Science teachers, with a record of guiding students to brilliant colours said the school was well behind the Heritage Based Curriculum given the benefits that comes with it.
“We are fully in support of the Heritage Based Curriculum because it comes with benefits and opportunities. Our country has a rich heritage which should be explored through our education to solve our problems,” he said.
The school opened the 2025 academic year operating from the new location and says it is important that we complement other schools in the suburb.
For the convenience of its students, Genesis College offers transport services to and from Ruwa, with a designated pick-up point at Number 1 Kwame Avenue in the Harare CBD.
Established first as an A Level Practicals Training Centre catering for students from various schools, Genesis College was registered with the Ministry of Education in 2007 before getting registered as a Cambridge Centre in 2011.
Since then, Genesis College has consistently boasted an impressive record in both ZIMSEC and Cambridge examinations, with a 91% at A Level and 80% at O Level pass rate.
In 2023, the school achieved a remarkable pass rate in the Cambridge examinations earned the school the prestigious Cambridge Awards, with its teachers and students receiving awards of excellence.
The school offers a broad range of subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Accounting, Information Technology, Divinity, Literature in English, English Language, Travel and Tourism, Environmental Science, History, Sociology, Shona, Ndebele, Thinking Skills, and Design and Technology.
