HARARE, April 2026 — The Indonesian Embassy in Harare has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening trade and economic ties with Zimbabwe, unveiling a series of private sector partnerships and business engagements ahead of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) 2026 in Bulawayo.

In a statement, the embassy said Indonesia views Zimbabwe as a strategic partner in Africa and is seeking to expand cooperation across key sectors in line with Harare’s “Open for Business” policy framework.

Indonesia’s participation at this year’s ZITF marks what officials describe as a significant step in consolidating bilateral trade relations, with several companies set to showcase products and explore investment opportunities in the local market.

Among the notable developments is the entry of PT Wings Corp Indonesia into Zimbabwe, signalling a growing interest by Indonesian firms in tapping into the country’s consumer and industrial markets. The embassy also confirmed facilitating a partnership between PT Dami Sariwana and local firm Kumbucha Pvt Ltd, a collaboration expected to be showcased during the trade fair.

The embassy said the partnership reflects efforts to promote industrial cooperation and value addition, key pillars in Zimbabwe’s economic development strategy.

A number of established Indonesian companies will also participate in the exhibition, including PT ABC President Indonesia, Khong Guan Indonesia, PT Konimex, Blankenheim Indonesia, PT Duniatex, and PT Mitra Saruta Indonesia. The firms operate across diverse sectors such as food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.

“The participation of these companies demonstrates Indonesia’s readiness to expand its private sector footprint and engage Zimbabwe as a reliable trade partner,” the embassy said.

Zimbabwe has in recent years intensified efforts to attract foreign investment and boost exports, positioning itself as a gateway to regional markets in Southern Africa. The Indonesian Embassy said it sees “immense potential” in Zimbabwe’s market and remains committed to fostering long-term economic cooperation.

ZITF is one of Africa’s premier trade exhibitions, drawing exhibitors and investors from across the globe. This year’s edition is expected to further spotlight Zimbabwe’s re-engagement drive and its push to secure international partnerships that support industrial growth and job creation.
